Redefining Growth

Global challenges like climate change, geopolitical tensions, inequality, and poverty are reshaping growth in both developing and advanced economies. In this era of rapid change, some argue that the costs of traditional growth models may necessitate “degrowth.” Others believe growth is still essential but must be redefined to go beyond GDP, incorporating wider economic, social, and environmental outcomes, including wellbeing, inclusiveness, sustainability, and resilience. How can we improve the quality of growth? What new pathways to better growth can align with long-term societal and environmental progress while minimising trade-offs? How can better growth be also realised at both the organisational and individual levels?
